How to Change a User's Reports Permissions

Use the following steps to edit a user's permissions to one or more reports:

  1. From the left side navigation menu navigate to the User Management page (Settings > User Management).
  2. The User Management page opens.
  3. Ensure you are on the USERS tab.
  4. In the table shown locate the user whose Report permissions you wish to change.
  5. For the desired user, click the more options menu (3 veritcal dots) at the end of the row.
  6. Click Manage Permissions from the sub-menu that appears.

  7. The Manage User Permissions: <User First Name Last Name> page opens.
  8. Click the REPORTS tab from the top of the page.
  9. A table of reports, user report access, and role access to the reports shown.
  10. By default, the Report Access (user) column shows "Inherited" indicating the user inherits permission to the reports shown from the role the user is a member of (such as Admin, General User, Compliance User, etc.). The user's role access to each report is shown in the far right column under "Role Access."
  11. If you change a user's access to a specific report, this overrides the permission inherited from the user's role (for that report).
    1. In the example below note the user access to a report is changed from "Inherited" to "Read" for a single report. Access to all other reports is unaffected. The Role Access (User) column displays the role permissions have been overridden (from Inherited to Read) for the highlighted report.

  12. Locate a report to edit permissions for in the table.
  13. For the desired report, select any of the following options from the "Report Access (User)" column:
    • Inherited - Access rights are inhertied from the Role the user is a member of
    • None - No access to the report, including view access (user will not see the report at all)
    • Read - Read-only access to the report
    • Manage - Full permissions to the report. Read, Write, Modify, etc.
  14. Changes apply to the user account the moment the change is made.
  15. Note that changes to a report overrides the access set by the user's role for that report and the Role Access column displays the text "(Overridden)" to indicate this.
