What is the Purpose and Function of a Policy?

Policies govern how Agents operate.

  • Agents are worker processes that scan and evaluate locations (entered by you) for sensitive data such as social security numbers, phone numbers, IMEI numbers, etc.
  • By changing a policy, all Agents in your environment using that policy are impacted
  • Policies enable you to control the behavior of multiple Agents operating across your environment
  • For more information about Agents, see Working with Agents - Overview
