How to Change a User's Playbook Permissions

This article describes how to change a user's access (permissions) to one or more scan playbooks.

Use the following steps to edit a user's permissions to one or more Scan Playbooks:

  1. From the left side navigation menu navigate to the User Management page (Settings > User Management).
  2. Ensure you are on the USERS tab.
  3. In the table shown locate the user whose Playbook permissions you wish to change.
  4. Click the more options menu (3 veritcal dots) at the end of the row.
  5. Click Manage Permissions from the sub-menu.

  6. The Manage User Permissions: <User First Name Last Name> page opens.
  7. Click the PLAYBOOKS tab from the top of the page.
  8. A table of playbooks for the selected user is displayed.
  9. Locate a Playbook to edit permissions for.
  10. If you change a user's access to a specific playbook, this overrides the permission inherited from the user's role (for that playbook).
    1. In the example below note the user access to a playbook is changed from "Inherited" to "Read" for a single scan. Access to all other playbooks is unaffected. The Role Access column displays the role permissions have been overridden (from Inherited to Read) for the highlighted playbook.

  11. Locate a playbook to edit permissions for in the table.
  12. For the desired playbook, select any of the following options from the "Playbook Access (User)" column:
    • Inherited - Access rights are inhertied from the Role the user is a member of
    • None - No access to the playbook, including view access (user will not see the scan at all)
    • Read - Read-only access to the playbook
    • Manage - Full permissions to the playbook. Read, Write, Modify, etc.
  13. Changes apply to the user account the moment the change is made.
  14. Note that changes to a playbook overrides the access set by the user's role for that scan and the Role Access column displays the text "(Overridden)" to indicate this.
